Cover Jordan’s main sights with a private driver  to make your trip smoother on this  4 days private tour. Visit  the historical places in downtown, where we visit the Citadel with remains from the Roman to the early Islamic period and Mt. Nebo, Madaba, Baptism, Jerash, with an overnight at the Dead Sea & Amman.

 

Itinerary

Day 1, Arrival Amman

Upon arrival, a member of our staff will meet you at Queen Alia International Airport. Transfer to hotel in Amman. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2, Amman City Tour/ Jerash/ Amman

Breakfast. Departure to visit the ruins of the Amman Roman theatre, the Citadel and the Umayyad Palace. The tour includes visits to the Archaeological and Folklore Museums. Free time for walking/shopping in the old down town area of the city. Proceed to visit the Greco-Roman City of Jerash, also known as the City of the thousand columns. Jerash showcases the grandeur of Imperial Rome (and is sometimes referred to as the Pompeii of the East). It is considered one of the largest, and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the World outside Italy. As the most pristine Decapolis City (meaning ten cities in Greek) in the modern world, Jerash’s prosperity can be admired in the colonnaded main street and lovely Oval Piazza. Transfer back to Amman. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3, Amman/ Madaba/ Mt. Nebo/ Baptism site/ Dead Sea

Breakfast.Visit the Christian Town of Madaba, which is known as ‘The City of Mosaics’. You will be visiting the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, where you will see the masterpiece of Madaba (a Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land that goes back to the 6th century, showing Jerusalem and other cities), you will also visit the Archaeological Park, which houses the remains of several Byzantine churches, including the amazing mosaics of the Church of the Virgin. The park complex includes a school for the restoration and conservation of ancient mosaics. We will then go to Mt. Nebo, which is considered to be one of the most important holy sites in Jordan, as it is believed to be the place where Moses climbed from the Valley of Moab, and from where God showed him the Promised Land, as well as Moses’ last resting place. It features ruins from the 4th to the 6th century with marvelous mosaics adorning the grounds of the church still visible.Transfer to visit the Baptism site where John lived and baptized. Proceed to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, 409 meters below sea level for a swim in its warm, salty waters. Overnight at hotel.
